About Us
We are not a one size fits all type of training facility. Just like humans, every dog is an individual. We meet with you and your dog. We assess your dog to determine their temperament, willingness to learn, and any other behavioral issues the dog may be experiencing. We then discuss your goals for your dog, and how we can help you achieve those goals. After the assessment, based on your goals, we match you up with the most appropriate program to suit your needs.
What we offer:
Board and Train (Basic and Advanced)
Basic Obedience Boot Camp
Behavior Modification
AKC CGC A/U Classes
Service Dog Training
Police K9 Training
Scent Work Private Lessons
We offer free training consultations Monday through Saturday by appointment.
Board and Train Programs
We offer multiple types and lengths of board and trains for basic on leash obedience, advanced off leash obedience, behavior modification (aggression, reactivity, fearfulness, resource guarding etc.), service dog training, detection K9 training and more! In each of these courses, your pup will sit, down, heel, come, place, socialization, and proper interaction with people and dogs. After the board and train is your time to learn. Each board and train program comes with private lessons that can be done at our facility, out in public, or in your home so that you can continue success! A board and train is great for when you are on vacation and need to board your pup anyway! Contact us for more info.
Boot Camp Program
The boot camp program is a 6 week on leash obedience course where you will drop your dog off for training in the morning once a week. In the afternoon, you will come back for a private lesson with your trainer and your pup to go over everything your pup learned during the day. In this course, we will work on loose leash walking, place, down, socialization, and proper interactions with humans and dogs. Contact us for more info.
Benefits of Training
Obedience training from a young age can set you on the path for having the relationship you have always wanted with your dog. It can also help prevent your dog from picking up annoying habits, such as jumping on people, inappropriate barking, chewing, pulling on leash, etc. Learning good manners can help to curb similar habits in older dogs as well. It's never too late to improve bad behaviors too, no matter the age.
Bitework
Bitework training means teaching a dog to bite, on command, and also in response to specific threats. This type of training is for police K9s, military working K9s, as well as protection dogs, and dogs that compete in bite sports.
Not all dogs are suited for bitework training. Breed and genetics play a huge part in this. Most dogs that do it successfully have been bred for it and trained from a young age. Contact us for more information.Detection
In detection training, the dogs are trained to seek out a specific odor and perform a final response to indicate the presence of the odor that they are trained to alert to. The odor can very to narcotics, explosives, bed bugs and much more!
The training and development of a successful detection dog takes many hours, and this training continues throughout each dog's career. Not all dogs are suited for detection. There are a lot of breeds that do detection or nosework. Genetics will also play a huge part in this. Contact us for more information.
